MLF Chat

Navy Concept

What's up sports fans?
So remember back in the day when I made that Navy concept, which had STILL WORKING where the primary would be?

No?
http://minorleaguefootball.blogspot.com/2009/02/connecticut-navy-concept.html

So I decided to work on it, since I LOVE the jerseys so much, but we arn't using it. So I updated my set. I changed the font, and added a primary. I did keep the anchor, since I think it's awesome(Throwback's too tall). The tertiary is a play off the Naval Academy's N star logo.I planned to add the script over the primary, but I left it off to show you the boat design.
Jerseys.
Updated with new font

So comments. Also live chat tonight? It'll be the only day I have time this week.

Alright, I'm gonna go disregard females, and acquire currency.

47's Concept *Updated with Home Jerseys*

Well I posted this last night but Mykl deleted it, because he was trying to delete some other thread. Anyways I made some changes to Albuquerque's logos, First off I made the Green a tiny bit brighter, and the red is now alot brighter because it was basically crimson which is too dark with green and black. The silver is now a silver color, not gray. I also took out the double outline on the Alien Head and I made a completely new wordmark, because the last one doesn't really have a space/alien feel to it.

Primary

Secondary

Wordmark

Well I finished the Home Jerseys today, I went for a more futuristic look, and a more Under Armor Style Jersey as well, it is a modified Maryland template, it has some major differences though, no side panel, and the piping wraps around on the sleeves much like Arkansas, it kinda makes a giant stripe rendering of the stripes from the New Mexico Flag. The jerseys I preety self-explainable, the font matches the wordmark, and I included pants and the helmet, I like how it turned out but it's up to C, I will make the rest of the set tommarow, and if I should make updates let me know, the Shoulder logo could be taken away if it seems to clutter too much but I thought it looked alright.

Pennington Retires, Harrell will take place

Well this is really to make the leauge more realistic, since Chad Pennigton has become a NFL Starter for the NFL, He has announced his retirement from MLF, to be fair and not leave Memphis without a QB, Both Commishners have decided to award them with a rookie QB of the same rating. So Texas Tech star Grahm Harrell (83) will now be placed on the Mempis Roster and will likely be the starter next season. Pennington has become a Huge Name and Ever Game starter which is why he is retiring and others that are backups in the NFL are not. Memphis Owner Mburmy has been contacted and said that the deal sounded good. So the #3 QB Grahm Harrell will now be removed from the Available QBs for the draft.

Alabama and Quebec finalize Blockbuster Deal!

After long hours of tough negotiating, Alabama Owner Big Mike and Quebec Owner TC have finalized a blockbuseter Draft Deal.

Alabama will send a Quality QB Chris Leak (West All-Star MVP) to Quebec, where he will likely serve as a backup, or a starter if needed. His Rating is an 80 overall, unchanged from the start of last season after a rollercoaster year.
They also send a very good LB in Junior Seau, one of the games greatest who will not play MLB for Quebec but move to their weekest LB position (LOLB 75 overall) and become the starter. Seau is an 82 Overall Player.
Rounding out this part of the deal, Alabama will send their 2nd Round Draft pick (18th Overall) to Quebec.

In Return for all of this Alabama will now recieve the 3rd Overall Pick (1st Round) in the MLF Draft.

Alabama owner Bigmike says he is very happy with the deal and TC said he feel's good about it as well. Quebec will get a Quality QB, a Starter in Seau which feels up a Draft need, and get's an extra 2nd Round Pick. While Alabama will now have the 1st and 3rd Overall pick in the Draft.

POS Preview: Quarterback

Alright this is the first edition of the Positions Preview. I will do it for every position. I included all of the current QB Depth Charts for each team which includes the new ratings. Today's draft provided us with a huge QB class. I think we got 10 Rookie Quarterbacks coming in that have never taken a snap out of college, stars like Grahm Harrell and Chase Daniel, Brian Johnson and John Parker Wilson (Roll Tide!), and the studs who made their name big for at least one year, Todd Boeckman, Cullen Harper, Sean Glennon and more. I very large draft class that will probably provide us with alot of free agents.

Albuquerque 47's Concept

Here's a design idea Mykl and I have tossed back and forth. I came up with a "raw" design and he tweaked it. The stripes on the sleeves and pants are taken from the logo. The helmet is a challenge, will come later. I want it to be silver, but can't find a right stripe to make it look good. C+C?

Koncepts

So with the announcement of San Antonio going to my horse logo, I updated the set, with a western style font for lettering logos.>Then I think sizemore said he was going to my set, so I just put it all in one place. I did make the tiki mask logo as the primary.
Mike'll work on the 47s jerseys sometime. But anyone really can take a stab at it.

C&C.

also EVERYONE, go listen to Vlad the Impaler by Kasabian. It is like THE best EVAR

Salary

Alright, I got bored, and made up the salary system. I went by ratings. The higher the player is rated, the more "points" they are worth. There's also a limit on the amount of players per ranking group you can have. To keep it fair.

Ovr.....Limit...Points
91+..... 2 ... 10
86-90... 5 ... 5
85-81... 15 ... 4
80-71... -- ... 3
70-61... -- ... 2
60-..... -- ... 1

The cap of all the players is 180. I have 156 right now, which is before roster boosts. I did include Leaf as an 86, since Mike said that's where he'd be.

So what'd you all think?

Things

Who wants to keep stats?

also we'll be keeping track of injuries, and suspensions.

Say Pacman Jones ges busted for poppin caps in hoes, he'll get suspended for some games
Or if on the sim, Vick gets hurt for 6 weeks then he'll be on IR

or we could put him down...

also how are we gonna do the draft? it failed last time(my bad) and I think if we do it over AIM, it would be better. Like we can get in a chat room, talk with black lettering, and announce picks in red.

Also AIM would be easier to contact people about trades, and stuff

Spring '09 Awards(by Mike)

Alright well it is time to vote for awards... I have a good idea for who should be nominated for what but we will all decide. First off we are going to start with some minor awards nominees.

Playoff MVP - LV Ryan Leaf, or LV Bryant McFadden, maybe even LV DJ Hall

Offensive P.O.Y- West Nominees listed First, East Nominees listed Second
LV - QB Ryan Leaf
SAN - WR Marcus Vick
BOI - QB Shaun King
PC - QB Jason White

ALA - HB Darren Sproles
LOU - QB Aaron Brooks
SC - WR Joe Horn
MEM - QB Chad Pennigton

Defensive P.O.Y - West Nominees listed 1st, East Nominees listed 2nd
LV- DB Bryant McFadden
SAN - LB Larry Foote
BOI - DE Quinten Groves
PC - LB John Digiorgio

ALA - DB Tim Jennings
LOU - DB Shawntae Spencer

Comeback Player of the Year Nominees
LV - QB Ryan Leaf (Came in as a backup)
SAN- HB Shaun Alexander (Had bad NFL seasons last 2 years)
BOI - QB Shaun King (See Leaf)
LOU - QB Aaron Brooks (Came out of retirement)
Feel free to nominate more for this award.

Rookie of Year - Will be added next season due to this being 1st MLF Season ever.

and now MVP award (All P.O.W Award winners nominated, with 5 additional players)
1. SA Marcus Vick WR
2. PC Jason White QB
3. ALA David Carr QB
4. SC Dexter Jackson S
5. LV Ryan Leaf QB
6. BOI Shaun King QB
7. SA Shaun Alexander HB
8. LV D.J. Hall WR
9. ALA Tyrone Prothro WR
10. BOI Kenny Irons HB
.....and like I said there will be 5 extra nominees, heres a list of some guys who may deserve to be nominated.
ALA Darren Sproles HB
LOU Aaron Brooks QB
MEM David Boston WR
SC Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie DB
LV Bryant McFadden DB

Alright here was my idea for voting, For Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year we have the EAST Owners comment their choice for the WEST O/D P.O.Y and vice versa, that way no owner can vote for own player. Every Owner is allowed to vote for the 4 nominees of Comeback Player, and I think we should all give our top 5 for MVP and then post the top 5 in a poll. So that means EVERY OWNER must vote on a comment or vote will not count. We will discuss a end date for this in the comments and then I will post when that is.

Thanks,
Mike

Week 3 Games Announced!

Alright I found the schedule, here's Week 3.

Polaires @ Tropics (T)(I)
Gladiators @ Navy
Kings @ Shockers
47's @ Nightmare
Aces @ Grizzlies (N)

T=Thursday Night
N=Saturday Night
I=Interconference

I feel really bad about 3 Aces "special" games in a row, but that matchup was too big to pass up.

Offseason Begins!

Alright guys, it was a very succesfull year for the Spring season of Minor League Football, we have two expansion teams coming and we are looking for another great season! We need to figure some stuff out though, every team is only allowed to have 49 players on their roster, so if you asked me for your roster/depth chart last season you should know that already. I was thinking we would have 4 rounds for the Draft, then you get so many days to sign your draft picks, of course we need sizemore to work on the salary for a 49 man roster before we have a draft/free agent signing. I'm working on a biggg class for the Free Agent/Draft because we have to have the Expansion draft as well and hopefully we will have a large Free Agent Pool this season, in case your unhappy with a player at QB like San Antonio was this past season, you could release your QB and sign another. Obviously we need to figure out the Salary System before we begin anything, dealing with rosters. So Sizemore just get on it as soon as you can. Also Beast Mode write down all of Week 1 and 2 games and re-create the rest of the schedule please.

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Dick move on my part.

Offseason Jobs

I think that if we all have a job to do, we can get more done.

Me- I will be making jersey cuts. Some jerseys wont change much, some might.
Mike- Work on draft rosters.
Sizemore- Work on the salary system
Mode- Schedule

what else?

What about changing the league name? Since it has nothing to do with a minor league.

Comments, Questions, Concerns?

Just comment this post so we can address what we still need to do to have a successful second season.

Monday, April 13, 2009

TC

email me.
I have an offer.

Also, can we end the Polls early?

I think we should have the offseason periods in place.

Also mike, Can you increase ratings in players who deserve it?

Championship/Bronze Bowl Re-sheduled

Hey guys really sorry, but I dont see how I can get two games simmed today unless I rush and I dont really want to do that for the Championship game, the reason the LOU-BOI game has basically been delayed is my power keeps going out and coming back on, it was for about 30 minutes arouns an hour ago, thier are some really bad storms around my City and in Huntsville and everything so it may blow over here in an hour or so but for now I cant sim any games because the power just keeps going on and off. I will try and do the Bronze Bowl sometime tonight if possible and it look's like the Championship is going to be tommarow unless y'all want a Easter Game. Anyways I will try and keep yall up to date if my power gos out again and let yall know when I can do the games. Really Sorry again.

Globe Game

With the sucsess of the first MLF season, Commish Michael Taylor has announced the league will go global next year. 1 Game will be played in a city on a different continent. The teams will be the game between the 2 Championship teams. Alabama will host the game vs Las Vegas, since the Aces hosted the Gladiators in this years match. City list will be....

Europe-London, Wembley Stadium
Australia- Sydney, ANZ Stadium
Asia-Tokyo, Tokyo Dome
Latin America- Mexico City, Estadio Azteca
Africa- Johannesberg, FNB Stadium

Some other notes.
Teams participating in a special game will wear game logo patches instead of MLF logo patches.

Also the host cities of inter division games will switch year to year.
example- PC hosted Louisville this year, Louisville will host PC next season

Welcome to Las Vegas, Nevada!!! It's a beutifal Sunny 60 degree Saturday of Football!!! It's 3 o'clock here in Las Vegas for this matchup between the Aces and Grizzlies, The first time these two met was Ryan Leaf's Debut in week 3, where he threw for over 200 yards and led LV to a 14-5 win, at the time Boise and Las Vegas were 3 & 4 in the Division, Las Vegas wuickly emerged as a new team under Leaf as Boise just tryed to hang in the Division race, after new ownership and a risky trade that landed them a Veteran Quarterback and young Runningback, Boise became the hottest team in MLF during the 2nd half of the season.
