Player of the Week Photos

Alright I've been slow with these lately, I'll work on Jason White for Week 5 next, and then I'll do the All-Star MVPs. For now here is Week 1's Player of the Week, Lincoln Pioneers Safety Justin Woodall. The rookie had a huge game with 2 interceptions and a kickoff returned for a Touchdown to lead the Pioneers to their franchise's 1st regular season win and a huge upset over the defending champion Polaires.

Site changes

Sorry sizemore. I thought that we need a non transparent background to be able to read the posts better. The bright lights part distracted from the text. Though the sidebar looks better.

Also, whipped up a banner.

Playbooks

Okay so I noticed Beast Mode and Sizemore talking about their playbooks, and we have set them before but its a new season, and with the new game out the offenses are even more important, I've noticed the wildcat used in about 3 games already, Alabama, Louisville, and San Antonio all used it I think, I know Louisville for sure because Davenport had a huge run out of it. Anyways, you pick a playbook after any college team, or you can change it to one of the generic set playbooks which are:

-Multiple: Balanced System that uses a variety of formations and plays in order to keep the defense off balance.
-One Back: Designed to Spread the Defense out to create inside running lanes for the RB.
-Spread: A system that's primarily run from the shotgun that spreads the entire field with receivers.
-Pro Style: Uses a short, quick passing game to try and move the ball down the field.
- Run Balance: Run Heavy version of Multiple.
-Option Run: Run first system that uses option as foundation of the offense.
-Run and Shoot: Base personnel includes 4 WR's and 1 RB that is used to spread the defense out.
-Air Raid: Balanced passing attack that utilizes as many receivers as possible.
-Pistol: Combination of the Shotgun and One Back Offense.

Now basically every college team's playbook uses one of these although for example the Alabama Crimson Tide have a one back but they also use a Pistol formation and a Wildcat formation. So some of them are a little bit different then the generic styles.

You can pm me on the boards or let me know on here, My opinion may not matter but I can suggest a offense for you if you like.

New Site Design

EDIT: The new website design is now up. Anyone wishing to submit a header may do so via PM on the CCSLC or by emailing crashcarson15@gmail.com

I would personally recommend a header around 850 pixels wide to fit the template best. The navy and red on the side panel to the right are the official colors of the league per the logo in the header. Hope you guys like the change!

Retro Week Unveiling Extravaganza!

Hello and welcome to the MLF Retro Week Uniform Unveiling Extravaganza! So far only 3 of 10 teams have unveiled their uniforms, but now the remaining 7 will unveil their Retro Week uniforms in one mega-post.

Alabama Gladiators: Alabama owner and commish Big Mike wanted to combine elements of Alabama's two major football colleges for his team's Retro Week uniforms, the University of Alabama and Auburn. Not much else to explain here. Moving on...

Lincoln Pioneers: Before moving to Lincoln, the franchise was known as the Albuquerque 47s who made the MLF Championship in their one and only year of existence. This set pays homage to the team with the loudest color scheme in MLF history. Big Mike came up with the idea for these uniforms, basing them off of these old Steelers uniforms.

Boise Grizzlies: The Boise Grizzlies decided to use the Retro Week uniforms they wore in season one, and they were originally designed by Aces owner Michael Taylor.

Connecticut Navy: The Navy are participating in their first Retro Week. They will be wearing these uniforms that were a collaboration between Big Mike and TC. The sleeve stripes are a stylized version of those found on some actual Navy uniforms.

Louisville Shockers: Admittedly, these were the hardest to design. The primary logo is the shape of a lightning bolt that also contains the letters "LS". The uniforms are supposed to resemble the style of uniforms many teams had in the 1980's, with an old school Chargers twist.
Memphis Kings: In the first season of MLF, the Kings were a road team for Retro Week, sporting white jerseys and light blue pants. This season they are a home team. These are the same uniforms they wore back in season one, but they are the home version.
San Antonio Nightmare: The Nightmare will be wearing their season one uniforms, my personal favorites from all the uniforms worn that season. Even the ol' nosebleed horse will be rearing its ugly head again for Retro Week. I had to take some creative license to recreate the uniform on this template, but it is basically the same uniform.

That wraps up the unveilings! If you want changes to your team's uniforms please let me know before noon on Sunday, as I will be gone all next week.

Week 6 Games

Hey sizemore, I don't think I can finish week 6 this weekend, i have family coming to visit and I have been busy all week with friends, so if there is anyway you could finish Week 6 that would be good, and we need to just wait and do Week 7 next week, so we got all of the retro uniforms done and stuff.

Hawaii Tropics Retro Week Concept

Sizemore asked me to do the Retro Week jersey for the Tropics, and suggested I go the route of the Honolulu Hawaiians WFL team. So I literally did just that. Now I know they are kind of ugly, but so where a lot of old uniforms. I used these images for reference: pic 1, pic 2. For the logo I used a palm tree in a circle, using the shade of brownish-maroon found in the Hawaiians logo for the trunk of the tree, and the orange of the Hawaiians logo for the coconuts. Instead of using red, I stuck with the Tropics aqua. For the uniforms I did exactly what the Hawaiians used to wear, modifying where it was needed. C&C? I can change whatever you want, Sizemore.

And if anyone else needs their Retro Week uniform done, I can do it if you want.

Pioneers Concept

Sup? It's been a long time. I know. Yeah. Yeah, she was hot. Don't look at me that way. Well you brought her up! Don't sass me!

Here. I made this. For you.

I hope Bmac can see past the obvious tracing of the Sooners' logo.

Polaires and Aces Unveil Retro Week Uniforms!

The Polaires and Aces released the uniforms they will be wearing for MLF's Retro Week today at packed press conferences in both Quebec and Las Vegas.

The defending champion Polaires have decided to throw back to the days when they were known as the South Carolina Red Hawks. These uniforms were worn by the Red Hawks during MLF's first Retro Week that took place in season one. The original throwback uniforms for the Red Hawks were designed by Alabama owner Big Mike. Quebec owner Neil "TC" Lommel commented on his team's Retro Week uniforms saying, "I think we made the right decision by going with uniforms once worn by this franchise, it makes for a truer Retro Week experience we feel our fans will appreciate."

The Aces Retro Week uniforms were designed by Quebec owner Neil "TC" Lommel with the approval of Aces owner Michael Taylor. They are very similar to the original retro week uniforms worn by the Aces, as well as their current uniforms. Elements from the San Francisco 49ers were also taken to create an 80's feel. The Aces owner was unavailable for comment.

Retro Week announced for Week 7!

After TC suggested we have another Special Uniform Promotional Week, it was confirmed that we will have Retro Week next week for the Week 7 games. I can help out designing uniforms for anyone if they want me too. Also, Bmac I will shoot you an e-mail of the Lincoln logos I did, I'm going to try and fix the primary some first. Or if you wanna do your own uniforms go for it! Alabama's uniforms will be released within the next day or two. Also Alabama will be playing at Legion Field, Birmingham's old stadium for the game. Teams like Hawai'i could also do this at Aloha Stadium, and if there are old stadiums in Quebec, Memphis, or Lincoln you can do it also (you don't have too of course).

Week 7 Schedule
Connecticut @ Quebec
Louisville @ Alabama
Boise @ Hawaii
Las Vegas @ Lincoln
San Antonio @ Memphis

Proof That Our League is Messed Up

4 black helmets and 4 white helmets. The others are brown and silver (very similar to black and white). Can I switch to a teal helmet for the rest of the season (and put the primary logo back on it)?

Trade Deadline

The trade deadline was going to be Midnight tonight but I will push it back a day since I haven't made any post about it, so this is just a reminder. If any trades happen you will need to comment on this topic or make a new post addressing the deal.

Hey guys, I am going to make a request on the boards if you don't mind Bmac, I drew up some logos and wordmarks, but I wasn't happy enough with the logo to present it. I asked elliot if he thought he could fix it up to make it look more professional but he doesnt really have the time. So I'm going to put up a request and try and get you a identity for the 2nd Half.

All-Star Week News

Boise QB Thaddeus Lewis has been benched. Beast Mode emailed me and said the site wouldn't let him post, so I decided to announce it. Former Las Vegas QB Quincy Carter is expected to become the starter, in the one game he has played in he went 4/5 with 51 yards and an interception. Boise may want to go after a Quarterback since we are approaching the Trade Deadline (Which will be 12et/11ct going into Sunday July, 11th).

Now going into complete speculation, I think Aaron Brooks would be a very good fit for Boise just because all of their QBs are athletic and have the ability to run so he fits good in the offense, they may wanna go after Daryll Clark or Ryan Perriloux who are the backups for Lincoln and both rated 82. That's just some of my thoughts on the subject.

I have the EAST All-Star Roster done, I thought we may vote on it but there are only a few people paying attention, and considering we've only had 4 or 5 votes on the last 3 PoTW polls, I don't think we'd get that many votes, I picked all the players on each roster based on stats, I will email everyone the stats from Weeks 1-5 and the All-Star Rosters after I post the Rosters.

Also I will try to come up with some All-Star Uniforms, if anyone else has an idea for those, feel free to post them.

Oh and Sizemore I created a new Web Persona called MLF2010, and I'm moving all of the MLF teams there just so I can keep it separated from my NCAA teams, because when the new NCAA comes out me and my friends are going to re-create our teams, so this just keeps it more organized. So you may have to redownload all of the teams or something, if you do just search MLF2010 instead of rolltider10. I will sim the All-Star Game this weekend, and then I am going to the beach again next tuesday, so I'm going to be gone till like Sunday, so you'll have to sim all of Week 6's games.

Week 4 PoTW

Alright this week's winner was Gladiator QB Michael Vick, he was well deserving after leading Alabama to win over the rival Quebec. Vick had 334 passing yards which is the 2nd most in a game this season (Plummer had 344 in Week 2, which he won PoTW), he also had 4 passing Touchdowns. He was the first QB to go over 1000 yards this season, with Plummer following him, and both are now tied for 2nd in the league in Passing Touchdowns. Also you will notice that the Gladiators have now switched the facemask from red to black on their helmets. It has been like this all season but I never said anything about it haha.
