Pioneers Unveil New Uniforms

The Lincoln Pioneers have unveiled their uniforms for Season 4. The uniforms are pretty much the same as last season, however there are several differences with the switch to Nike. An alternate uniform is introduced, a gold jersey in the same design as the home and road. An alternate white helmet and white pants are to be worn with. The Nike Pro Combat uniform is retro-based.

Player of the Week Photos

Alright I've been slow with these lately, I'll work on Jason White for Week 5 next, and then I'll do the All-Star MVPs. For now here is Week 1's Player of the Week, Lincoln Pioneers Safety Justin Woodall. The rookie had a huge game with 2 interceptions and a kickoff returned for a Touchdown to lead the Pioneers to their franchise's 1st regular season win and a huge upset over the defending champion Polaires.

Retro Week Unveiling Extravaganza!

Hello and welcome to the MLF Retro Week Uniform Unveiling Extravaganza! So far only 3 of 10 teams have unveiled their uniforms, but now the remaining 7 will unveil their Retro Week uniforms in one mega-post.

Alabama Gladiators: Alabama owner and commish Big Mike wanted to combine elements of Alabama's two major football colleges for his team's Retro Week uniforms, the University of Alabama and Auburn. Not much else to explain here. Moving on...

Lincoln Pioneers: Before moving to Lincoln, the franchise was known as the Albuquerque 47s who made the MLF Championship in their one and only year of existence. This set pays homage to the team with the loudest color scheme in MLF history. Big Mike came up with the idea for these uniforms, basing them off of these old Steelers uniforms.

Boise Grizzlies: The Boise Grizzlies decided to use the Retro Week uniforms they wore in season one, and they were originally designed by Aces owner Michael Taylor.

Connecticut Navy: The Navy are participating in their first Retro Week. They will be wearing these uniforms that were a collaboration between Big Mike and TC. The sleeve stripes are a stylized version of those found on some actual Navy uniforms.

Louisville Shockers: Admittedly, these were the hardest to design. The primary logo is the shape of a lightning bolt that also contains the letters "LS". The uniforms are supposed to resemble the style of uniforms many teams had in the 1980's, with an old school Chargers twist.
Memphis Kings: In the first season of MLF, the Kings were a road team for Retro Week, sporting white jerseys and light blue pants. This season they are a home team. These are the same uniforms they wore back in season one, but they are the home version.
San Antonio Nightmare: The Nightmare will be wearing their season one uniforms, my personal favorites from all the uniforms worn that season. Even the ol' nosebleed horse will be rearing its ugly head again for Retro Week. I had to take some creative license to recreate the uniform on this template, but it is basically the same uniform.

That wraps up the unveilings! If you want changes to your team's uniforms please let me know before noon on Sunday, as I will be gone all next week.

Pioneers Concept

Sup? It's been a long time. I know. Yeah. Yeah, she was hot. Don't look at me that way. Well you brought her up! Don't sass me!

Here. I made this. For you.

I hope Bmac can see past the obvious tracing of the Sooners' logo.

Lincoln Identity Package

Hey guys, I am going to make a request on the boards if you don't mind Bmac, I drew up some logos and wordmarks, but I wasn't happy enough with the logo to present it. I asked elliot if he thought he could fix it up to make it look more professional but he doesnt really have the time. So I'm going to put up a request and try and get you a identity for the 2nd Half.

Lincoln Colors

How does changing Lincoln's green to gold look? I knida like it. If the colors are good, it is time for a logo package. I told Mykl he could give it a shot, and if anyone else has any ideas, go for it.

Week 1 Games Report

Let's keep all the games, scores, stats, and a brief recap in one post for the whole weeks games.

Quebec @ Lincoln (Globe Game in London)
QUE 0-7-3-6-16
LIN 0-14-14-13-41

Led by two kickoff returns for touchdowns, one for Justin Woodall and one for Brandon Lloyd, the Pioneers (1-0) kicked off their first year in Lincoln with a victory over the defending champion Polaires (0-1). Daunte Cullpepper completed 19 of 24 passes and two touchdowns in the win while Quebec's Jake Plummer threw costly interceptions. The Pioneers dominated the game throughout to pick up the franchise's first regular season victory ever and the first win in Lincoln.

POTG: Justin Woodall - 2 INT, 1 KRTD

San Antonio @ Hawaii
SAN 0-7-10-0-17
HAW 7-17-7-0-31

In the first game at the brand new Hawaiian Airlines Stadium at the Boardwalk, the Hawaii Tropics (1-0) led by new QB Colt Brennan, defeated their division rivals, the Nightmare (0-1). The Trops took an early lead, but were denied an early 14-0 lead on a goal line stand. Shane Graham had a 57-yard FG attempt blocked in the 2nd quarter, but on the next drive converted from 52. The Tropics scored twice in the final 1:03 before the half, as a SA fumble put the game out of reach early. The victory was a costly one though for the Tropics, as they have lost RB Ian Johnson to a broken wrist for the next 12 weeks. He would be able to return for MLF Championship 3 at the earliest.

POTG: Colt Brennan - 2 Passing TDs, 2 Rushing TDs

Connecticut @ Alabama
CON 0-7-14-14-35
ALA 14-14-7-7-42

The Gladiators (1-0) were able to get out to a quick 28-0 lead and hang on to get the 42-35 victory over the Navy (0-1) to open the season Friday night. Before the game, former Gladiator Darren Sproles had his jersey retired before the game and being the honorary coin flipper. The retired jersey can be seen here. After two Michael Vick touchdowns to put Alabama up 28-0, John Kitna led the Navy down the field to get a touchdown on the board before the half. After another Navy touchdown to start of the 2nd half, the lead was cut to 28-14. The Gladiators stretched the lead back out to 21 when Korean Robinson took the kickoff back 83-yards for the touchdown. Louisville's new starting quarterback Jevan Snead out of Ole Miss led the Shockers (1-0) past the Kings (0-1) in a rivalry game to start the season. Martin Gramatica kicked a 23-yard field goal to start off the scoring in this wide open game before Snead threw his first MLF Touchdown on the next drive. The Kings got 3 touchdowns in the 2nd quarter, 1 on a Pick 6 to go up 24-7 at the half and this game looked like it would be a blowout. The Shockers returned from the break a brand new team however, and Davenport and Snead touchdowns cut the lead to 3 by the end of the 3rd. Louisville was able to take the lead in the 4th and then a costly fumble for Memphis allowed the Shockers to stretch the lead out to 11. After a big kickoff return from Marvin Harrison, the Kings were able to cut the lead to 5 before failing the 2-point conversion. The Shockers got an insurance touchdown to take the lead 42-30, the final score.

Globe Game II

This year the Globe Game will be played at Wembley Stadium in London, England. So does anyone have any logo ideas? The game will be played between Quebec and Lincoln and it will be the season opener. I won't be on here from tommorow until next Tuesday, because I'll be going to the beach. We could start the season next weekend if everyone's ready or we can wait an extra week. Also I'll post the Award results (with pics) in a little while.

Grizzlies Headed to Lincoln

Boise, ID- Grizzlies owner Beast Mode announced Thursday in a press conference that brought tears to many Boise citizens, that the Grizzlies will be moving to Lincoln, Nebraska, at the start of next season. "Regretfully, the recent economic plunge has forced our team to find a new home." Beast Mode said. "It's sad to leave behind the memories, but we'll have to move on." A move seemed likely to most owners, but Lincoln was chosen ahead of Tulsa, the expected destination. "The team name is still undecided, although Generals, Coyotes, and Buffaloes are among the leading candidates."
