Bmac!

So we have our new owner of Albuquerque. We have to get a hold of burmy still, so we're pretty close to being set for the draft.

Bmac, any announcements on plans for this season?

Updating Rosters & New Owner

Alright I've updated rosters, which means I've updated the ratings and I went ahead and replaced NFL Starters with Draft Prospects, they will be listed in red on the team's roster, that also means the Draft Prospect Document I sent out is subject to change. I will send an updated version of that which will include a "replacement" prospect because we are trying to keep the same amount of the players that were already there. Alright I will post the new Salary Caps for teams as well as any changes that have been made. I will send everyone the rosters, I need Throwback's email address, I think I have everyone elses but if you don't get it after I send it out comment me on here your email and I'll send it out. Also we need to decide who the replacement owner for Albuquerque is because we are moving onto season 2 with 10 teams. We should probably ask Bmac if he would be intrested in taking over Albuquerque since he was supposed to get a team last year. If he doesn't want them then Droozer they are all yours. Also we need to hear from Burmy to make sure he's still on board. After we settle who the new owner(s) is, then we can set a date on the Draft and move onto the start of the season.
Also remember the Salary Cap limit is 180. (+) = Rating Boost, (-) = Rating Dropped
I also put Draft Needs as a catagory, this is the needs for the team in my opinion, some positions I put could just use upgrades as in QB for Hawai'i and Louisville or HB for Boise and San Antonio. Positions like WR can use upgrades for almost every team. Really we need every owner to look at the roster and be there for the Draft, and if they can't be there, they need to pick someone to draft for them and tell them what players they want!

Alabama Gladiators
Salary Cap: 171 (Off: 88 Def. 86)

Stats?

When do you think you are going to get done with stats Mykl? I need them to update rosters.

Now as far as salary and everything, we are going to use the same system this year. I wondered if we should drop 90 rated guys from 10 points to 6 or 7 points. Considering they aren't extremely better then 89 rated guys who are 5 points cheaper. Also if guys drop or rise in ratings they become cheaper or more expensive but they keep the same amount of years left on their contract. So for example, Ian Johnson was signed to a 3 year contract since he was an 80 overall, but he will probably be bumped up to 86 or 87 making him a little more expensive at 5 points instead of 3 but he still has 2 years left on his contract. That makes it just like real life where if certain players do well they get raises in bonuses and stuff like that.

Alabama signs HB Michael Smith

PRESS CONF. FROM HOOVER, AL 4-24-10: "Hello everyone, after a busy season and some busy scouting of the NFL Draft, the Alabama Gladiators have decided to announce Darren Sproles will not return to the team for the 2010 season. He has spent 2 seasons with the Gladiators and has been the face of our franchise, weather it was competing for the rushing title or returning kicks he was a true Superstar to this team and to the league. He has decided that he will focus on the NFL full-time now and retire from MLF because he has now become a bigger role for the San Diego Chargers. The Alabama Gladiators have decided to retire his #43 jersey since he has been the face of our franchise. We are very pleased with what he has done and sad it has come to an end but it is obviously the best thing he can do. Sproles will do the Coin Flip for the Gladiator's first home game and have his jersey retired before the game starts."

"Since Sproles is gone, we have been given the opportunity to sign a replacement runningback. We have decided to sign the #3 Runningback prospect for this year in Michael Smith of Arkansas. Smith is a very similar player to Sproles, he is a small speedy back at 5'9, 180. He spent most of last season injured for the Razorbacks which ruined his shot at the pros. In his Junior year he was a SEC rushing leader having 1,072 yards on 20 carries, with 10 total Touchdowns (2 Receiving). He had key games against big teams, rushing for over 500 yards against the Top 25 which was 6th nationally. He also had a 133 yard game against the National Champion Florida Gators, the most the team had given up all season. Although it will be tough to replace Sproles, we think Smith is our best shot. Sproles was evaluated at a 87 overall and would have probably been bumped to an 88 or 89 after an impressive season. Smith will come into the league rated at 84, we feel confidant that he will get the job done and maybe he will be as good as Sproles while starting for the Gladiators. He will be signed to a 4 point contract for 4 seasons."

Doing stats

This weekend, I'll see what I can do.

Through 5 games, JP Wilson has 1472 yards, 11 Tds, and just 4 INTs
:D

Also, since we're doing stats, and that we didn't have an ASG, and are considering a 1 division league...

We should just do a All-MLF team.

Gentlemen...

I WILL be returning for the summer season. I have had a lot of distractions during the school year, but with summer coming I will have a lot more time to dedicate to this. Also, San Antonio Nightmare FTW!

Developing story?

Gentlemen... and beast mode...

Well, since we kind of figured out that we'd do summer leagues, that gives me A LOT more time to help with here.

So with that being said, I will return for a summer season. Though I have some new ideas to make the league better. Now we all know that mike somehow got a crap load of talent, that being said, what if we selected keepers, then drafting players, just to spread out the talent pool. We will keep star players like JPW, and Pornstache, but retool for the future

I also think contracting to 8 teams would be better. I know NEP wont be coming back. Then Kevin has lots of distractions(don't ask). So if we had 8, would you guys be in favor in 1 big league? Instead of divisions, just a big 8 team conference. It seems like it would make it simpler to do a schedule. Like once vs every team, then an extra rival. So I'd play mike, BM would play TC.

I'll see what I can do with the stats from recent games, so we can get a good estimate on how we all did.

So comments? Thoughts? Opinions? Sarcastic remarks?

Also droozer, if you don't make the 8 team league, just be accepting please. I know you want in badly, but it'd be the way the cookie crumbled.

Good luck to the 4 teams left in the tournament. 2 for 2 in Vegas? I THINK SO.

Lastly, sorry I'm sorry I was a bitch. I had a lot on my plate. Just I need to get school together, and get my GPA up. And during the school year, dont expect to see much of me.

Rebuilding

Well this season was a complete failure, most of the blame is on me and raysox (more so me, since I wasn't as able/willing to sim during this season). It was nice to see Sizemore help out though and step up when this league was at its worst. The thing I miss the most is when this league was fun, we couldn't wait for games to be simmed and the whole atmosphere was fun, and that kind of just disappeared. I think one reason is because I got kind of tired of trying to sim all the games every weekend, it was just to much stress considering I'm usually with friends or just taking time out from a busy school schedule. I think it was a good idea to try and end the season on a high note with the Season Ending Tournament. I think for thee Championship game Sizemore you should do a "broadcast" for it since it is the Championship. The team will be Crowned Season 2 Champion and the Tournament Record will be displayed as the team's final record. I will be out of school in 4 and a half weeks, the week after I'll be on vacation at the beach, so the first week of June will be my most free, Between now and then I will work on getting draft prospects, and instead of having a Season 2 All-Star Game, it will just be played in Alabama for the Summer Season (or Season 3). One good thing about the summer is we have full weeks and all times of the day to sim, and now we have up to 3 or 4 people who can sim. I think what we should do is Supersim and stats from now on until playoffs. I also propose that we do Full-Game Broadcast for the playoffs and Sizemore can sim the East while I will sim the West, that way it can be fair.

One thing we need to do is address owners who are returning for Season 3.
East
Alabama - Big Mike (Returning)
Connecticut - Throwback (Returning)
Memphis - MBurmy (?)
Louisville - BJB (Returning)
Quebec - TC (Returning)

West
Albuquerque - New.Era.Panda (Not Returning!)
Boise - Beast Mode (Returning)
Las Vegas - Mykl (Returning)
Hawai'i - Sizemore (Returning)
San Antonio - Kevin (Returning)

Okay so I need to know if Memphis, Connecticut, and San Antonio's owners are returning for the 3rd season or not. I'm just assuming Mykl and New.Era. are still resigning from the league, if I am wrong please correct me. At the looks we have at least 2 teams possibly 5 teams to replace, so we will need replacements, obviously Droozer and Brian are the top 2 right now seeing as they have been paying a lot of attention to the league. We will probably make a topic asking for applicants and maybe post a thread on the boards looking for replacement owners if we need 3-5.

I don't think we should shoot for a Season 3 Start date just yet, I think we need to get everything organized and have the draft and everything settled first. The ratings will be changed due to 1st Half Season stats. There was just too much productivity out of some players to go unseen as well as some players doing worse then expected. I think Sizemore said the Championship will be this weekend so stick around and let's look for a good start to building Season 3 back up to what the MiLF used to be.

Lost Season

As much as I hate to say it, we might need to abandon this season and build for next season so we can...

-Start it on time around the beginning of June
-Get committed owners for the league
-Reduce the league back down to 8 teams?

So any thoughts on abandoning this year?
