Developing story?

Gentlemen... and beast mode...

Well, since we kind of figured out that we'd do summer leagues, that gives me A LOT more time to help with here.

So with that being said, I will return for a summer season. Though I have some new ideas to make the league better. Now we all know that mike somehow got a crap load of talent, that being said, what if we selected keepers, then drafting players, just to spread out the talent pool. We will keep star players like JPW, and Pornstache, but retool for the future

I also think contracting to 8 teams would be better. I know NEP wont be coming back. Then Kevin has lots of distractions(don't ask). So if we had 8, would you guys be in favor in 1 big league? Instead of divisions, just a big 8 team conference. It seems like it would make it simpler to do a schedule. Like once vs every team, then an extra rival. So I'd play mike, BM would play TC.

I'll see what I can do with the stats from recent games, so we can get a good estimate on how we all did.

So comments? Thoughts? Opinions? Sarcastic remarks?

Also droozer, if you don't make the 8 team league, just be accepting please. I know you want in badly, but it'd be the way the cookie crumbled.

Good luck to the 4 teams left in the tournament. 2 for 2 in Vegas? I THINK SO.

Lastly, sorry I'm sorry I was a bitch. I had a lot on my plate. Just I need to get school together, and get my GPA up. And during the school year, dont expect to see much of me.

Yeah, I completely understand whatcha mean at the end. Also, contraction could work IMO but... I'd honestly vote for 10 since we've got a couple of guys that really want into the league.

I get what you're saying. We'll see what Throwback, and Kevin says. I assume Burmy will return.

So if we have 7, and droozer or barrish could fight to the death for #8

sizemorematters said...

Also, we need to increase our kickers ratings IMO.

If I don't make the league, ya I understand. I'm not sure how I stand against the Barrish, but I know he is much more experienced on the boards. but I'll stay out of it until you guys make a decision. Obviously I'm for a 10 team league, but I could understand an 8 team one too, as it seemed to work really well in Season 1. And anyone for the championship in Dallas?

I think 10 teams is better just cause we have already expanded and we have people who can fill in the owner spots if we need them. Plus since we are going in the summer we have the time to make a 10 team league work.

I don't like the re-drafting idea. I just think it is better to keep the teams like they are now that we have them this way. I know my team has a lot of talent, but my players didn't do as well as other teams this year, so alot of teams are getting major boost to their guys ratings while mine are getting minimum. Plus my teams not unbeatable considering we went 0-2 to end the season.

Plus Vick and Sproles may be NFL starters which means I have to get replacements, and if that happens there really is no way I'm getting a Athletic QB around 86 or 87 overall. I thought that if Mike goes, I could just move Marcus back to his original position at QB and he would be a 84 or 85.

Michael said...

We'll work everything out. Like have a vote post for the topics

then the owners would vote for it. Seems fair?

Big Mike said...

Eh I don't really like it, its just extra work and we would have to completely redo the rosters on teambuilder, it would just take too much time. It just seems unnecessary to me.

And notice the 2 teams that got critized most for trading their top 3 picks to me are in the East Conf. Champ and 1 of them is going to be in the league's Championship. So really the Gladiators are not that much more talented then other teams.

sizemorematters said...

Yeah, plus the game's fairly random.

Big Mike said...

Plus think about it this way, The Yankees are 10 times more talented then teams like the Orioles or the Padres, but the MLB doesn't say "No, no the Yankees are too talented, we need to take there players off and have a re-draft to make everything even." It would just defeat the purpose of the 2 seasons before this. And its not like I stole talent, I may trades that other owners AGREED to. So really its a idea that makes no sense, it would be changing the whole league because people think 1 team is better, just because I have a lot of talent and everything doesn't mean I'm going to win, just look what happened this season.

Whoa, whoa, whoa why does Boise get a higher pick than me? I put them as the #1 seed b/c of point differential over me in head-to-head games because we split. I would've played Albuquerque had I won the tie...

sizemorematters said...

PS, IMO it should be the 8 teams that didn't qualify for the championship 1-8 (reverse regular season record) then the 2 teams in the title game.

I've been mentioned a few times in the last couple of posts, and since I'm back from my honeymoon and whatnot, I may as well weigh in.

Firstly, if you're choosing between droozer and myself, I'd implore you to take him over me since he was in first. If there's room for me, great. If not, no big deal.

Secondly, if you do decide to go with eight, and there's not room for me, maybe go with nine?

Whether you go with eight or nine, I would suggest each team play the others once in a single-table (no divisions) format. I further suggest that if four teams make the playoffs that you use the four-team Page Playoff format. If we do five teams, then we should use the Page Final Five format. If you're not sure of what it is, look it up. Sizemore should know the Final Five format because that's what we're using in the UAFL.

As for the boards, I have no problem with the commissioners sending PMs out to people in the leagues who they feel they might want in the league. I don't have a problem with that. And although I don't have control over what's on the Lounge, you're really not allowed to post stuff in there either.

Now, as far as getting a board is concerned, here's the thing -- I have a pretty short leash when it comes to Sim Leagues. I've put down three leagues so far because they didn't keep up with things in a timely fashion and I don't want that to happen to this league. The Wrestling League and the Sim Hockey League update every day to every other day. If you guys are committed to keeping up with the league on a weekly basis, then I have no problem with you guys on the CCSLC board. But I want to see the league get a season down without issues before I let that happen.

(Also, should the league be CCSLC certified, you'd have to get rid of TC, since he was banned. I know the mods haven't banned TC 2.0 yet, but in the eyes of the Fantasy Office, he's not eligible for circumventing board rules).

I'll be happy to help things to an organizational standpoint too, if you need it.

Eh, i think it's better on here anyway.

And mike, my argument was that we were basically completely restarting basically. Thus new players.

Actually kinda like this

Whether you go with eight or nine, I would suggest each team play the others once in a single-table (no divisions) format. I further suggest that if four teams make the playoffs that you use the four-team Page Playoff format. If we do five teams, then we should use the Page Final Five format. Yes, the Page system is a great idea IMO.

As for the boards, I have no problem with the commissioners sending PMs out to people in the leagues who they feel they might want in the league. I don't have a problem with that. And although I don't have control over what's on the Lounge, you're really not allowed to post stuff in there either.

What I thought.

Now, as far as getting a board is concerned, here's the thing -- I have a pretty short leash when it comes to Sim Leagues. I've put down three leagues so far because they didn't keep up with things in a timely fashion and I don't want that to happen to this league. Agreed, honestly. I think we're good here for now...

(Also, should the league be CCSLC certified, you'd have to get rid of TC, since he was banned. I know the mods haven't banned TC 2.0 yet, but in the eyes of the Fantasy Office, he's not eligible for circumventing board rules).

And this here, is another reason why we wouldn't go to the Boards anyways. I don't think any of us want to drop TC.

I'll switch Boise and Hawai'i, I just did the order that way because the tournament involved every team, the season basically served as a seeding for the tournament, since it involved every team, we will just do it this way.

I think we are good on this site, I've just grown accustomed to things on here anyways.

I still like a 10 team league, I mean we have 10 franchises and enough people to fill them in, plus we now have the time to sim all of the games involving them so I don't see why we would reduce.

IF we don't go with a 10 team league then a 9 team league is fine, it makes as much sense as a 8 team league with no divisions.

We are not starting over on rosters, that would just push back the start of the season and completely defeat the purpose of having a Team History. We would have to completely re-build the teams on Team Builder and on file and its a ton of work considering the amount of players we now have. It's just not a good idea at all, why start over something we have done and waste more time on it? It's really a terrible idea.

Big Mike said...

Actually Hawai'i and Boise are tied in 6th place, which means they will coin flip for 4th and 5th pick. Then they will alternate every round just like Connecticut and Albuquerque did last year.

sizemorematters said...

Oh alright, sounds good... so... how the hell do we do a coin flip...?

Big Mike said...

Haha, actually what I will probably do is go to a randomizer site, the one I used to fix the Top 2 last season and the position drafts. I'll just fill in Boise and Hawai'i and it will randomly pick one of the 1 and the other 2.

Big Mike said...

Or I could just do a for-fun Tiebreaker game between yall two after the tournament lol

sizemorematters said...

Oh yes. I vote for that. Winner gets the higher pick?

Michael said...

Well, if we redo rosters, we could get rid of the starting pros we have.

TC said...

Not to be a dick and shoot down Michael's idea, but Mike is right. He did make trades and things to get the roster he has, so redoing the rosters would be unfair, and take a lot of time.

As for getting rid of pro starters, we should just do what we did with Pennington last off-season.

Big Mike said...

Yeah Sizemore, and raysox, we are always going to have people that play in the pros and sometimes backups get to step up and they become starters. If we re-did rosters to get rid of players, we would have to do it every season, and we aren't doing that. Like I said it would push so much stuff back and pro long the off-season. I don't think anybody wants that, and its just not a good idea, I'm at least a little open to your other ideas but that ones just completely stupid and pointless.

Big Mike said...

Exactly TC! We find guys to become replacements, I even said if Michael Vick is named a starter I'd just move Marcus to QB instead of taking a replacement.

And I'm not trying to be an ass by saying its a bad idea, but it is.

sizemorematters said...

When it comes to QBs and RBs especially we should have no NFL players in the league. There's plenty of guys out there for this use...

a la Colt Brennan. Is he still on the 'Skins? He won't be soon.

Big Mike said...

But the leagues not just for guys who are not in the NFL at all, its for backups, I'd guarantee the majority of the league is on NFL rosters, its for backups, guys who dont get to play alot in the NFL, and the free agents out of the NFL, I know we dipped into College Studs and stuff but guys like Michael Vick, Najeh Davenport, John Parker Wilson, and a lot of others dont play much. Vick isn't a starter and he really didn't play that much, a lot of people were mad because he was on my team and we were the most talented, if he was on Albuquerque I'm sure Mykl or anyone else wouldn't say a word about it. I'll admit Sproles does play alot and he is probably going to be a starter this year which is why I'll replace him but Vick probably has one more season before hes a real threat to start anywhere.

sizemorematters said...

True. I dunno though, I mean I'd personally like to see the quarterbacks like that because we can find guys to draft.

Big Mike said...

It also makes me a little mad how you said that Mykl, you act like I stole good players, and like I said before I made trades that the other owners agreed too. They knew who they were trading to me. And I already said this too, if Vick was on Albuquerque or Connecticut you wouldn't complain once about him being in the league, so you should stop shooting me and my team down just because we are good.

Big Mike said...

Oh and Colt Brennan is still on the Redskins right now, he even changed to number 15 for McNabb but considering he hasn't played a down in the NFL and JPW is a backup for the Falcons, Brennan is welcome to the league, he will probably be one of the top rated QBs. The NFL Draft is exciting for this league too because a lot of these late round picks and undrafted guys will be entering the MLF Draft, which I will address in a couple of days who all is entering and I'll breakdown skills for players at the top of their position.
