Okay so this was obviously a very close play, I talked with sizemore and said that I would probably go with the ruling on the game but I dont wanna sound biased so I searched the rules, hopefully I can find a video example but here is what the rules say on wikipedia;

"A touchdown is achieved when a player has legal possession of the ball and the ball crosses an imaginary vertical plane above the opposing team's goal line."

Now he clearly has it across the plain and possesion at the vevry beginning of the replay. I'll try to find a more reliable link but I doubt that is made up.

See, the only question I have is that if the receiver has to have a foot down before he has legal posession... sigh.

I don't think so, I mean the game would know what a complete catch is, I think the biggest thing is if the balls crosses the plain.

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

Not to sound biased or anything, but it is debatable whether or not the ball actually crossed the plain, and if it did there is no way he had full possession at the time the ball was past the goal line, it was just touching his hands.

In the meantime I will laugh at the irony of getting screwed out of two games, both against the Gladiators. Ha. Ha.

Its paused and in his hands. So he has possession while its across the plain, he has it because he is bringing it back down to his body while he is moving foward, I also found a video of a controversal Santonio Holmes catch, he has his feet in the endzone but listen to what Cower says, he said that the official even overturned it for the wrong reason, the only reason it was a touchdown was because the ball crossed the plain, not because his feet were in the endzone, the catch is almost identical though and it was called a Touchdown. And once again TC a 20 yard field goal is not getting screwed over so you need to let the first one go.

This video is currently not available. Please try again later.

You don't need to see the video anyways Beast Mode since Mike has the final say about it, so obviously it's a TD.

Oh my gosh TC, you want me to give you the win, is that it? Are you going to whine because your team got beat again even when I didnt sim it. The freakin game called it a touchdown, he caught the ball while he was in the endzone and it crossed the plain and thats the rule, I even looked it up, and I found a dang video that has a play almost identical and the freakin analyst that is was one of the NFLs best coaches says the same thing I do. I think it was a catch, if it had been your team that made the catch then I would think the same thing. I'll give you the damn win if its honestly that important to you.

Oh and the link works, make sure you copy the whole thing

I mean the original video that Sizemore posted. And why the f*ck would we change the game results for anything. TC, just shut the hell up.

sizemorematters said...

Yeah really, it was called a TD on the field and well the play was never reviewed.

Video game officials, like real life officials, make mistakes. Irrespective of whether or not the officials on the field made the correct call, I don't think it's up to Mike or anyone to make any changes unless it was an egregious error. This doesn't seem like it's the case here. It's just a stroke of bad luck. Move on.

Hey Beast Mode, you can keep your mouth shut and stay the hell out of it. Last time I checked, your team wasn't involved in the game and you didn't sim it.

And sizemore, your last comment contradicts the entire point of this post, you say it was called a TD and wasn't reviewed on the field, as if you stand by the call in the game, yet you post a replay anyway? WTF. Mike delete this damn post, there was no point in it in the first place.

I wanted to know if there was any protocol as to if we would overturn a call based on our own video replay.

Apparently there isn't any protocol on it, especially since Mykl's said nothing about it.
